Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

This website works without cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Its fonts and images are hosted with the site, so your browser does not contact third parties when you read it. The only exception is the security check on our sign-up form, described below, which loads when you start using the form.

Who is responsible

Kof Ventures UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Greifswalder Str. 228a, 10405 Berlin, Germany. Email: Email us

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages). To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and the time of your request. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Cloudflare may process data in the United States and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Registering for events

We use Luma (Luma AI, Inc.) for event registration and ticket sales. When you follow a ticket link, you leave this website and Luma's own privacy policy applies. As the event organizer we receive the details you enter when you register, and we use them to run the event and to contact you about it (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).

Mailing list

If you sign up to hear about future events, we send a confirmation email and add your address only after you confirm it. Sign-ups pass through a function on Cloudflare's servers and are stored in a Google Sheet in our Google Workspace account. Confirmation emails and event news are sent with Gmail. We don't track whether you open our emails or click links in them.

To protect the form from bots, it uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which loads only when you start using the form and checks browser and device characteristics and your IP address.

The legal basis for the mailing list is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). For the spam check and for keeping proof of your consent, it is our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email or by writing to Email us. Your address is then removed from the list, and a record that you once consented and later unsubscribed may be kept for up to 3 years as proof. Google and Cloudflare act as our processors and may process data in the United States.

Photos, videos and voice recordings at events

We take photos, videos and voice recordings during our events, and you may appear in them. We may publish them on this website, on Instagram and on other public websites to show what our events are like and to promote future ones. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in documenting and promoting our events (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), or your consent where we ask for it (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

To ask us to remove a published photo, video or recording that shows you, send a written request by email to Email us. Once something is published online, others may copy it, and we can't control that. Instagram is operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., and its own privacy policy applies to content there.

WhatsApp group

We manage a WhatsApp group for our community. Joining is optional, and nobody is added by default. If you join, you consent to us processing your phone number and profile details to run the group (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Other group members can see your phone number, profile details and messages. You can leave the group at any time, which withdraws your consent for the future.

WhatsApp is operated by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd., a Meta company, and its own privacy policy applies. Meta may also process data in the United States.

Contacting us

If you email us, we use your message and contact details to reply (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). We delete them when they are no longer needed, unless we are legally required to keep them.

Links to other sites

Links to LinkedIn and other websites only take effect when you click them. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your data, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can also complain to a data protection authority. The authority for Berlin is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
